Surgery done, mom's fine

Just got the call from my dad, my mom's surgery is complete, and it went well..

She's still in recovery now, but they'll be moving her back to her room shortly. The doctors said she had 2 hernias and they repaired them both. They also put a netting in front of her entire abdomen right up to her ribs, and said she shouldn't have any more hernias now. They said there was a lot of pus inside, but no infection, which is good news. She should be back home Sunday at the earliest, but dad didn't know if that meant back home at home, or back home in the Dryden hospital. She'll need at at-home nurse to tend to her for at least the next month.

Sarah and I have been thinking about your Mom and the rest of you guys. We're glad to hear your Mom's surgery went well. Will she be home in time for Thanksgiving?

Sarah and I are coming to Dryden for Thanksgiving! We fly into Winnipeg on Friday night.

Yep! They are home now, although they didn't actually release her Saturday, we had to wait until Sunday. She made it for Thanksgiving dinner though.

Great, good to hear that! Can't wait until we can visit you all again. I'm still waiting for word on a job up north. If everything works out the way we want, we'll be moving in the spring! Or sooner if we don't have any choice...
