My Timmies Asplode

This is weird... there are reports on CBC and the Toronto Star that there was an explosion at the Tim Hortons right by my work today and 1 guy was killed. It's still early, but reports say there was a suspicous package found.

For non-Canadian readers: Tim Horton's Wikipedia entry.

Remember, remember the fifth of November... V

We even heard about the explosion and death on CKDR. I think it was a suicide.
The November gunpowder plot was planned by Guy Fawkes in England and he, with a group of his countrymen, tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. It was on November 5 in the 18th century. Schoolkids and adults celebrate this every year and make a bonfire, set off fireworks and bake potatoes in the fire and make toffee and gingerbread! A great celebration!

Yup, remember Nov.5th.

In 1605, thirteen young men planned to blow up
the Houses of Parliament. Among them was
Guy Fawkes, Britain's most notorious traitor.

In watching one of the many V for Vendetta specials, I think it was Alan Moore who said, "I was in a bar in Ireland and behind the bar they had a sign that read, 'Guy Fawkes the only man to enter the Houses of Parliament with honest intentions.'" I laughed at that.

Looked it up, the quote is "Guy Fawkes, the only man to ever enter Parliament with honourable intentions."

Still funny though.
